Our Story

For our beautiful baby, Korbyn.

Your life was so brief yet it touched so many around you. You are forever loved, our butterfly angel.

Our story begins in October of 2018, we had two previous healthy pregnancies and births and decided to finish off our family with lucky number three, little did we know that the pregnancy would end with premature rupture of membranes and an emergency caesarean at just 23.6 weeks gestation.

Our son Korbyn Walker was born at a tiny 470g and had only 10% chance of surviving. We watched our baby boy go through numerous medical procedures and defy the odds for an amazing 20 days.

Unfortunately, our happy ever after was not to be and Korbyn lost his fight for life after contracting sepsis and Necrotising Enterocolitis.

“Grief is a life long journey and finding that unique way of expressing your grief will bring you comfort and support through the toughest of times.”

-Amy Sherar

When our son died all, I could do was try and keep my connection to him strong, so I read to him every day, honour him in all that I do and search for him in heavenly signs. Since Korbyn’s death, we have joined support groups, raised money for charities and created a beautiful community garden for bereaved families.

Two years after the death of our son we welcomed a rainbow baby boy into the family, he has helped heal our hearts but has definitely not taken the place of our very missed baby Korbyn.

The latest contribution to my healing and grief process has been writing my book called “I See You” which is expressing all the ways my baby Korbyn is seen to me after his death and how he continues to be apart of my life. Grief is a life long journey and finding that unique way of expressing your grief will bring you comfort and support through the toughest of times.
